Lord Shiva Statue

Gopuram Temple 

One of the best places to visit in Murudeshwar is the temple of the Gopuram. Constructed in the Dravidian majestic style, this granite temple is a 20 stored high one. It is said that Gopuram is one of the tallest in the world and it is guarded by two life-size elephants. This temple is also known by the name of Kethappa Narayana.

Mirjan Fort

 If you love history you should visit this fort which is just an hour’s drive from the town. This well-preserved fort is actually underrated. The fort’s secret passages will leave you awestruck. History says that this fort was used by the ‘pepper queen’, Queen Chennabhaira Devi in the 16th century. That’s why it is built with Deccan and Mughal memories.

Yana Hike

If you love adventure you must visit this hiking place. Located in Achave, you have to drive for an hour and a half to get here. Wear your sports shoes and take some snacks with you while you hike these rare limestone rock monoliths.

Netrani Island
